This shopping tote, originally conceptualized as a handmade item, has become Revava (biblical Hebrew for ten thousand), referencing the product as one fit for mass production.
Revava evolved by exploring the conversation between a container and its contents — how the contents can project and impact it’s outer layer and appearance.
The original ‘one of a kind’ tote was created solely for citrus fruit, and was inspired by the net packaging in which it is sold. Evolving into Revava, as a design fit for the average consumer, I held onto the elastics and shape-changing element of the shopping bag. Using layers and patterns of various elastic materials, the tote represents it’s contents in interesting ways — starting at the market and ending at home.
